Our research advances conversations on digital rights in Africa, with a focus on privacy, data protection, and the ethical use of emerging technologies. We analyse how digital identity systems, political micro-targeting, and AI-enabled services influence individual rights, accountability, and equitable access to digital ecosystems. Through comparative assessments and regulatory insights, our work contributes to stronger safeguards for personal data, transparent deployment of technology, and rights-based approaches to innovation and governance.
Below are some of the notable outputs that our Tech Law Lead has authored/contributed to, reflecting ongoing engagement with policy debates, legal reforms, and emerging digital rights issues across the region.
